Fast! That’s the word that best describes the Section XI Girls State Team at the Webster Aquatics Center on Friday.
Section XI proved to New York State swimmers that they are a force to be reconned with.
The day began with Hauppauge-Smithtown’s 200 Medley Relay(1:45.39) taking the top seed in tomorrow’s final.
East Hampton(1:49.43) was seeded #2, Sayville-Bayport(1:50.47) #4 and Northport-Commack(1:51.17).
Erica Czeremcha of Half Hollow Hills-Kings Park, will be seeded #10 in the 200 freestyle.
In the 200 IM Emily Herr of Shoreham-Wading River is seeded #4. In the 100 fly, Hauppauge-Smithtown’s Leah Treglia(55.24) is seeded #3 and Noelle Jordan(57.15) of Center Moriches is #8. The 100 freestyle has Sophia Zhao(52.84) of Hills-Kings Park at #9.
200 freestyle relay has Ward Melville(1:40.38) seeded at #9 and Hauppauge-Smithtown(1:40.51) at #10.
Backstroke has Leah Treglia(54.98) seeded at #2 and Farrah Klein(57.34) of Hills-Kings Park at #6.
Breaststroke features East Hampton’s Jane Brierley(1:03.63) seeded #2, Marissa DeMarco(1:04.29) of Longwood seeded at #5 and Emily Herr(1:04.92).
